Social Good is more important than profits. What is your company’s true purpose?

Vidcon a reminder for brands to develop purpose beyond profits.

After working with some of the top talent in the world, developing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, rubbing shoulders with the famous and the notable, I still get butterflies.

There I was, on stage at Vidcon. other members of the panel have millions of followers, while me? I still haven’t launched my YouTube channel, but the experience inspired me to push forward and launch this month!

After participating on the panel, I was reminded that it doesn’t matter how many followers you have, or how many views or likes we have, but what matters is the quality of impact, especially when it comes to making a difference in the world.

So much on social media today is negative and destructive. In the early days of social, we were all hoping for the internet and social media to connect the world to make a difference. Participating in the panel, and interacting with so many people at Vidcon reminded me that there are so many good things and good people in this world, and it’s our obligation to use social to uplift, celebrate, and most importantly make a positive impact on the world.

My message at Vidcon was without a sense of purpose, no company can achieve it’s full potential. Companies must make decisions on how it can contribute to the society beyond making profits. Profits are only one small way to measure success.

Thanks to Paramount Network for inviting me to join #VidCon2018 this year! We must share why brands should take a stand and serve a social purpose, whatever form or fashion that social purpose is for each brand.
