All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them. — Walt Disney
Life will only change when you become more committed to your dreams than you are your comfort zone. — Billy Cox
It sounds SO cheesy, I know.
But if you’re just sitting around in your comfort zone, how can you allow anything amazing to happen?
Many moons ago, I was an LA girl feeling like I didn’t quite belong. I was finally able to take charge and make a change. At the age of 25, with hardly a cent in my pocket, I moved to Europe.
I studied design and after (sadly) realizing I wasn’t cut out to pursue design professionally, I started managing the social media accounts of local businesses. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I was subconsciously using the DRAGONS Formula to spark conversations, drive engagement and grow followers.
Once I was armed with the DRAGONS power, I was able to take that momentum and roll with it…
Eventually, my work got better. I started to understand what audiences connected with most.
And then it got REALLY good. I started landing clients I had previously only dreamed of.
My point is, you have to take risks. Even if it’s scary. You need to wake the effing DRAGON and do something different if you want things to change. That’s how Einstein defined insanity! Doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.
When I left my life in the US behind, I was terrified. It was one of the scariest things I’d ever done. I was all alone when I got there. But it lead me to where I am now.
And I still consider it one of the pivotal moments in my life.
If you want things to change, you need to make the conscious decision to make a change.
I’m giving you the tools. The DRAGONS Formula isn’t rocket science. It’s a natural flow of following your intuition and thinking about human feelings and what makes us tick.
Things don’t just happen overnight. People don’t often share what their daily grind looks like. They show their wins and successes. It takes hard work to get where you want to be. But that hard work doesn’t happen all at once. It happens when you continue to show up.
So the first thing you need to do to become successful is get out of your own head, stop comparing yourself to others, put your head down and do. the. work.
After laying out the DRAGONS Formula in my Domestika course, I received this message from a student of mine:
Are you seeing this?!
Yahya made a change; a serious one.
His first step was to invest in my course. And as you just read, it wasn’t easy for him. That small but powerful change was like a little tightly packed snowball. Which he then started rolling up and up: getting his friends together, starting an agency, pitching clients…
Baby steps. Baby steps that turn into leaps and bounds.
I’m here to tell you that the first step is always the hardest, but the most important thing is getting started.
You already have the DRAGON in you. Do you dare wake it up?
