No sponsoring. No boosting. No money behind it at all.

How did I do it? How did I make $50,000 USD with this one post?
Let me start with some context first. After thriving in Barcelona for 7 years, I met a wonderful man at a Kinnernet event in Lisbon. We clicked instantly and started travelling and planning trips together. The more time I spent with him, the more I realized I needed him in my life every damn day.
Fast forward a year, and I made the decision to leave my life in Barcelona behind and dive into something new. I was moving to Tel Aviv in Israel and basically starting allll over again. Because why not? I’m all about trying new things and getting out of my comfort zone. Plus, I like a challenge.
Like I always do when something moving, special, exciting, delicious happens I shared it. I wanted to share this next step with my followers to let them know how excited I was. This post was just me being my authentic self (this is the A for authenticity in the DRAGON method I’m always talking about).
I wasn’t trying to sell anything, I wasn’t asking anyone for a hookup, I was just sharing part of my journey.
Yes, don’t worry! We’re getting to the big dollar part.
A couple hours after I wrote that post, I got a DM from a stranger also living in Israel. She was reaching out because we had something in common. Two gals from the US, living in the same place. She knew what it was like to move somewhere new and not know anyone. She’d already been through it.
We ended up meeting in real life and we clicked instantly.
Because of this stranger I met on social media, I got introduced to one of the most powerful Israeli startups…
…And landed my first gig after moving to Tel Aviv.
Worth $50,000 USD!
All because she saw my post, connected with my story and reached out to me.
The funniest part? She doesn’t even work in social media – she’s a pilates teacher!
So what’s the moral of this story, you ask? You’ll probably hear me say this A LOT, but it’s because it’s true:
Stop obsessing over how many followers you have and focus your attention on creating authentic connections with people.
Quality over quantity.
What does it matter if you have thousands of followers but hear crickets after every post? When you focus on the right kind of people – your kind of people – you win.
Are they genuinely interested in what you have to say? Is there something in you they see in themselves? Are you putting out BS-free content without trying to look a certain way or attract certain “types” of followers?
Authenticity is what got me that $50,000 contract. All it took was attracting ONE person. The RIGHT person.
This isn’t “luck”. This is about being genuine and using social media to build meaningful relationships.
Making connections this way has never been easier thanks to social media. When you work on attracting the right people by being yourself, those connections will eventually lead you to exactly where you’re meant to be!
